There has been a glut of articles in the latter half of the year about a shortage of everything thanks to shipping delays.
Headlines along the lines of “The grinch is here to steal Christmas”, or “Get in quick or you will be disappointed”.
Would it really be the end of Christmas if there were a few less toys to choose from for your grandkids, kids, nieces or nephews? Or if your gift for your loved one arrives a few weeks late?
If someone’s love is conditional on receiving a gift on time, or even at all, then what is that telling you?
For me, there are two true gifts of Christmas, and not one of them involve presents:
1/. Time slows down. The office shuts down. Clients take a break. It is a great time to get outside and re charge the batteries so to speak. No constant barrage of emails, phone calls and demands of your time. I understand this doesn’t apply to everyone so don’t send me your hate email thanks.
2/. Spending more time with loved ones. Hopefully you get some time with at least a couple of very close friends and family members. It is a great time to get together and appreciate who is in your life.
If you are panicking about goods arriving on time or even at all, then you don’t have a supply chain crises. You have a life crises. One where you need things to validate your existence. Your problems lie deeper than any supply chain my friend.
This is time to appreciate everything you have in your life and slow down.
For as much as he tried, the Grinch couldn’t steal Christmas from the who’s down in Whoville, and he won’t steal it from you either.
